Moreover Elihu spake, and said, Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
Behold, I am full of matter; the spirit within me constraineth me.
Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.
I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.
Let me not, I pray you, respect any person: neither will I give flattering titles to man.
For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my Maker would soon take me away.
Surely I would speak, that I might find relief: I open my lips, and the spirit giveth me answer.
The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty giveth me life.
If thou canst, answer me; set thy words in order before me, stand forth.
Behold, I am toward God as thou art: I also am formed out of the clay.
Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
Surely thou hast spoken in my hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
I am clean, without transgression; I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.
Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy;
He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
He will break in pieces, mighty men without number, and set others in their place.
Therefore he delivereth them to the wantonness of their heart, and he letteth them go in the power of their counsel.
They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope in the noonday as in the night.
But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty.
For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
He shall deliver you in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch you.
In famine he shall redeem you from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
You shall be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
At destruction and famine you shall laugh: neither shall you be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
For you shall be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.
And you shall know that your tabernacle shall be in peace; and you shall visit your habitation, and shall not sin.
You shall know also that your seed shall be great, and your offspring as the grass of the earth.
You shall come to your grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in his season.
Lo, this we have searched out; it is true: hear it, and know you it for yourself.
